Guide to Boarding an International Flight ✈️

This guide uses A2-level English for easy understanding.

A. At the Airport

When you arrive at the airport, follow these steps:

 * Check-in: Go to the check-in desk for your airline. Show your passport and ticket (or booking reference). The person will give you a boarding pass.

 * Baggage Drop: Give the person your large suitcase (checked luggage). They will put a tag on it. Keep your small bag (carry-on) with you.

 * Security Check: You must walk through a machine. Take your laptop, liquids, and jacket out of your bag. Put them in a plastic tray. Collect your things on the other side.

   * Ask a question: Can I keep my belt on?

B. Before Boarding

After security, look at the big screens for your flight information:

 * Find Your Gate: Look for your flight number and the gate number (e.g., Gate 45). Go to the gate.

 * Wait: Sit near your gate. Listen for announcements.

   * Ask a question: Do I need to show my passport now?

C. The Boarding Process

When your flight is ready, the airline staff will call people to board the plane:

 * Listen for the Call: They will call people by group number or row number (it is on your boarding pass).

 * Show Documents: When it's your turn, go to the desk. Show your boarding pass and your passport again.

 * Walk onto the Plane: Go through the door and walk down the jetway (the walkway) to the plane.

   * Ask a question: Is the plane on time?

D. On the Plane

Find your seat on the airplane:

 * Find Your Seat: Look at your boarding pass for your seat number (e.g., 23A). Walk down the aisle to find it.

 * Store Your Bag: Put your carry-on bag in the overhead compartment (above your seat) or under the seat in front of you.

 * Sit Down: Sit and put on your seatbelt.

   * Ask a question: Where is my seat?

E. Extra Help

If you need help at the airport:

 * Find Staff: Look for a person in an airline uniform or an airport worker.

 * Ask for Help: Use simple English to ask your question.

   * Ask a ques

tion: How long is the flight?
